KORONADAL CITY — The regional office of the Department of Labor and Employment is re-aligning its programs for the new Labor Employment Plan (LEP) to be coherent with President Benigno Aquino's mandate to align programs to the Philippine Development Plan (PDP).
Last week DOLE 12 conducted its mid-year planning and assessment at Isla Jardin Resort Gumasa, Glan Sarangani.
In her message, Regional Director Ma. Gloria Tango said, "in every trip that we make, we needed a stop over to asses our current track. This is to verify whether we are gearing towards a unified goal or not."
Prior to setting of the programs in line with the new LEP, each operating unit of DOLE including the five field offices presented their accomplishments for the first six (6) months of 2011.
ARD Joel Gonzales said the LEP for fiscal years 2011 to 2016 is a sectoral plan that supports PDP 2011 – 2016 of the Aquino administration that aims for inclusive growth.
It is the blueprint of labor and employment reforms, policies, and programs; it also represents the collective priorities of various stakeholders, he said.
The new LEP highlights the pillars of decent work, namely: employment, workers rights & business needs, social protection, and social dialogue. Effective the second semester of 2011 all programs and service of DOLE 12 will be in accordance with these pillars, he explained.
By aligning DOLE 12's programs with the LEP, DOLE 12 could serve its clientele fully, Gonzales added.
Gonzales is hopeful that a better DOLE 12 will serve its clientele fully once the programs are put in place.
